  • Class 1: items with basic insulation which rely on an earth for protection, e.g. kettles, desktop computers, cables and leads, photocopiers.
  • Class 2: items with extra insulation which don’t rely on an earth for protection, e.g. desktop printers, lamps and TVs.
  • Class 3: low voltage items whose charging leads can be tested, e.g. laptops, mobile phones and cameras.
