A cracked gasket prevents the fridge door from shutting properly, causing cool air to exit the fridge’s interior. Grease build-up on the gaskets can cause them to wear out, so clean them regularly to prevent damage.
Clean the condenser coil
A dirty condenser coil makes it difficult for refrigeration units to maintain their temperature, leading to overheating and even component failure. Most manufacturers recommend cleaning the coil every three months and even provide a cleaning guide in the unit’s manual. To begin, you will need to disconnect power to the unit. Using a stiff bristle brush, scrub off any dust and dirt, and use a hoover to clear it out.
Clean the drain pans and tubes
Commercial refrigerators are more susceptible to sludge and slime. To prevent dirt build-up and blockages in the drain pans and tubes, clean them at least once a month. Use a vinegar solution or warm water and soap to clean the pans and tubes.
